Your child comes home with a bruise.
You should know what happened, and when.
SIMIS helps childcare centres notice a fall, a collision, a hit or a kick within seconds, and write it up before you arrive. No faces. Nothing leaves the building.

What you are told at pickup
Fall, Nursery 2, 10:23
A teacher was with your child within three minutes. First aid given, no further concern. The clip was reviewed by the centre and stays on site.
Written 10:41, before you arrived.
The account you get: the time, the room, what staff did. Not “we think it was this morning.”
Every centre has cameras. That is not the same as someone watching.
Four things parents tell us, in the order they happen.
You hear about it at pickup
A bruise, a plaster, a quiet child. The day is over before anyone tells you.
“We are not sure when”
The account is pieced together from memory, hours later, by someone who was watching twenty children.
The cameras saw it. Nobody did.
Most centres have CCTV. Almost none of it is watched while it matters.
You do not want your child in a database
More cameras should not mean a library of your child’s face somewhere you cannot see.
The same fall, two very different afternoons.
What changes is how long it sits there before anyone knows.
What changes for you when your centre has SIMIS.
A teacher there in minutes, not at pickup
When a child falls, collides, or is hit or kicked, the duty phone is told within seconds and a teacher goes to look. The moment is not left to chance.
A written account, ready when you arrive
What happened, where, when, and what staff did. Written the same morning from the record, not from memory that evening.
A straight answer on privacy
No facial recognition, nothing uploaded, only short clips of flagged events kept on a unit inside the centre. Ask them. The answer should be exactly that.

What happened
A child fell from standing height in the activity corner. Staff reached her within 3 minutes, first aid was given, and her mother was told at pickup the same day.
This is the note. Not a shrug.
A confirmed event comes out of SIMIS already written up: the time, the room and what staff did. The centre checks it, corrects anything wrong, and it is ready before you collect your child.
The alert goes to the centre’s staff, not to your phone. That is deliberate: a teacher three metres away is the fastest help there is.

More cameras should not mean less privacy for your child.
These are written into every centre’s agreement with us. You can ask to see them.
3 things SIMIS will never do
Identify your child by their face
SIMIS sees a person and a posture, never a name. Identification was never built.
Send video outside the centre
No cloud upload, no remote streaming, no third party in the middle.
Use the footage for anything else
No training on children’s footage, no sharing, no selling. Clips exist for the centre’s incident record and nothing more.
Ask your centre. We wrote the message.
Copy it into WhatsApp or email. Centres that hear it from a parent take it seriously. If they want the detail, they can read the page written for them.
For home: the same eyes on the people you cannot always be with.
An infant with a helper. A grandparent living alone. The cameras are usually already there. A version of SIMIS for families is in the works: it tells you directly when someone falls, and keeps the same rules. No faces, nothing leaves the house.
Be first to hear.
One email when it is ready for families. Nothing else, no list.
Questions parents ask
Will I get an alert on my phone?
Not from a centre’s system. The alert goes to the centre’s duty phone so a teacher can get there. What you get is a faster response and a written account of what happened. A home version that alerts families directly is in the works; the waitlist below is for that.
Does it watch my child’s face?
No. SIMIS detects that a person is there, how they are moving and whether they have fallen or been hit. It never matches a face to a name, and faces are anonymised in the short clips that are kept. There is no facial-recognition setting; it was never built.
Where does the footage go?
It stays inside the centre. The recorder keeps recording as before. SIMIS runs on a small unit on the premises and keeps only short clips of flagged events on that unit, under the centre’s retention policy. Nothing is uploaded or streamed off site.
What does it actually detect?
Four things: falls, collisions, hitting and kicking. It flags the moment for a person at the centre to confirm or dismiss. It does not decide what an event means or who was at fault.
Is it in my child’s centre?
SIMIS is piloting with childcare centres in Singapore. The quickest way to find out is to ask; there is a ready-made message on this page you can send to your centre.
What will the home version do?
Watch the cameras a family already has at home, for an infant with a helper or a grandparent living alone, and tell the family directly when someone falls. Same rules: no faces, nothing leaves the house. Join the waitlist and you will hear when it is ready.
